Your Blog Dashboard
Your blog dashboard shows all your posts organized by status:
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| Published | Posts visible to the public |
| Drafts | Posts you saved but haven’t submitted |
| Pending | Posts waiting for admin approval |
Each post displays:
- Title and excerpt
- Publication date
- Category
- Action buttons (Edit, View, Delete)
Editing a Post
You can edit your posts at any time:
- Go to your blog dashboard
- Find the post you want to edit
- Click the Edit button
- Make your changes
- Click Update Post
What you can edit:
- Title
- Content
- Featured image
- Category
- Tags (if enabled)
Changing Post Status
Unpublishing a Post
To take a published post offline temporarily:
- Find the post in your Published tab
- Click Unpublish or Move to Draft
- The post moves to your Drafts tab
- It’s no longer visible to the public
Republishing a Draft
To publish a post from your drafts:
- Go to the Drafts tab
- Click Edit on the post
- Make any final changes
- Click Publish or Submit for Review
Deleting a Post
To permanently remove a post:
- Find the post in your dashboard
- Click the Delete button
- Confirm when prompted
Important: Deletion is usually permanent. Some sites may move posts to trash first, allowing recovery within a time period.
Understanding Post Counts
Your dashboard shows post counts for each status. These help you track:
- How many posts you’ve published
- Work in progress (drafts)
- Posts awaiting approval
Viewing Your Published Posts
To see how your post looks to readers:
- Find the post in your Published tab
- Click View or the post title
- You’ll see the post as visitors see it
Working with Drafts
Drafts are your work in progress:
- Auto-saved drafts: Created automatically while you write
- Manual drafts: Created when you click “Save as Draft”
To continue working on a draft:
- Go to the Drafts tab
- Click Edit
- Continue writing
- Save again or submit when ready
Pending Posts
If your role requires admin approval, submitted posts appear in the Pending tab until approved:
- You can still edit pending posts
- Changes may reset the approval process
- You’ll be notified when your post is approved (if notifications are enabled)
Tips for Managing Content
- Keep drafts organized – Delete drafts you won’t finish
- Update old posts – Keep evergreen content current
- Check pending status – Follow up if posts stay pending too long
- Use categories wisely – Makes finding your posts easier
