WB Member Blog integrates seamlessly with BuddyBoss Platform. This guide covers setting up the blog feature in your BuddyBoss community.

Requirements
- BuddyBoss Platform (latest version recommended)
- WB Member Blog plugin activated
- BuddyBoss Theme (optional but recommended)
Step 1: Verify BuddyBoss Components
Go to BuddyBoss → Components and ensure these are active:
- ✅ Member Profiles – Required for blog tabs
- ✅ Activity Feeds – For post activities (optional)
- ✅ Social Groups – For group blogs (PRO feature)
Step 2: Configure Member Blog Settings
Go to Member Blog → Settings and configure:
Pages Tab
- Create or assign the submission and dashboard pages
- These pages are still needed even with profile tabs
Access Tab
- Select which BuddyBoss Member Types can create posts
- Leave empty to allow all member types
Content Tab
- Enable Activity Stream – Turn on to post blog activities to the feed
Step 3: Profile Blog Tab
WB Member Blog automatically adds a “Blog” tab to member profiles when BuddyBoss is detected.
Members can:
- View their published posts
- See posts pending review
- Access drafts
- Create new posts
Visitors see:
- The member’s published posts only
Step 4: Activity Stream Integration
When enabled, published blog posts appear in:
- Site-wide activity feed
- Member’s personal activity
- Group activity (PRO – when post is linked to a group)
Activity shows:
- Post title
- Post excerpt
- Featured image thumbnail
- Link to full post
BuddyBoss-Specific Features
Member Type Restrictions
If you use BuddyBoss Member Types, you can restrict blog creation to specific types. This is useful for:
- Making blogging a premium feature
- Limiting blogs to specific community segments
- Creating tiered access levels
Notification Integration
WB Member Blog Pro adds BuddyBoss-compatible notifications:
- Bell notifications for post approval
- Co-author invitation notifications
- Proper notification formatting for BuddyBoss mobile app
Group Blogs (PRO)
With WB Member Blog Pro, members can:
- Link posts to BuddyBoss groups
- Display posts in group blog tab
- Create activity in group feeds
- Pin featured posts in groups

Troubleshooting
Blog tab not showing:
- Verify Member Profiles component is active
- Check user role is in allowed roles
- Check member type restrictions
- Clear any caching
Activities not appearing:
- Verify Activity Feeds component is active
- Check “Enable Activity Stream” is on
- Only published posts create activities
Styling issues:
- Update to latest BuddyBoss Theme
- Clear browser cache
- Check for CSS conflicts
