How Series Work
A series is a collection of related posts presented in a specific order. When a reader views any post in the series, they see:
- Navigation to previous and next posts
- A table of contents showing all posts in the series
- Their reading progress (if enabled)
Creating a Series
You create a series by adding posts to it. There are two ways:
Method 1: When Creating a New Post
- Create a new post as usual
- Find the Series section in the post form
- Click Create New Series
- Enter a name for your series (e.g., “Complete WordPress Guide”)
- The post becomes Part 1 of your new series
- Publish your post
Method 2: Adding to an Existing Series
- Create or edit a post
- Find the Series section
- Click Add to Series
- Select from your existing series in the dropdown
- Set the position (Part 2, 3, etc.) or leave blank to auto-increment
- Save the post
Series Options in Post Form
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Select Series | Dropdown of your existing series |
| Create New | Enter name to start a new series |
| Position | Order in series (auto-increments if left blank) |
| Remove from Series | Unlink post from series |

- Find the series and click Delete
- Choose what happens to the posts:
- Keep posts – Posts stay published, just unlinked from series
- Delete posts too – Posts are also deleted
Multi-Author Series
Series can include posts from multiple authors:
- One author creates the series
- Other authors can add their posts to the same series
- All posts appear together in the series
- Each author keeps ownership of their own posts
This is great for collaborative projects or community guides where different experts contribute parts.
