Viewing Your Scheduled Posts

Members can see their scheduled posts in two places:

Author Dashboard

If the Author Dashboard is enabled:

  1. Go to your Author Dashboard
  2. Click the Scheduled tab
  3. See all your upcoming posts with scheduled dates

Using the Shortcode

Site owners can add a scheduled posts view anywhere:

[bp-member-blog-scheduled]

This displays:

  • List of scheduled posts
  • Scheduled date/time for each
  • Edit, Cancel, and Publish Now buttons

The Scheduled Posts List

The list shows:

ColumnInformation
TitlePost title (click to edit)
Scheduled ForDate and time of publication
Time UntilCountdown (e.g., “in 3 days”)
ActionsEdit, Reschedule, Cancel, Publish Now

Rescheduling a Post

To change when a post will publish:

  1. Find the post in your Scheduled tab
  2. Click Reschedule (or Edit)
  3. The date/time picker opens
  4. Select a new date and time
  5. Save changes

The post will now publish at the new time instead.

Canceling a Scheduled Post

To cancel scheduling and return a post to draft:

  1. Find the post in your Scheduled tab
  2. Click Cancel or Revert to Draft
  3. Post returns to Draft status
  4. You can edit and reschedule later

Canceling doesn’t delete the post – it just removes the scheduled date.

Publishing Immediately

To publish a scheduled post right now instead of waiting:

  1. Find the post in your Scheduled tab
  2. Click Publish Now
  3. Post bypasses the schedule and publishes immediately

Use this when circumstances change and you want to get content out sooner.

Editing Scheduled Posts

You can edit scheduled posts just like drafts:

  1. Click the post title or Edit
  2. Make your changes to content, title, categories, etc.
  3. Save the post

The scheduled date remains unchanged unless you specifically reschedule.

What Happens When a Post Publishes

At the scheduled time:

  1. Post status changes from “Scheduled” to “Published”
  2. Post becomes visible on your site
  3. Post appears in RSS feeds and archives
  4. You receive a notification email (if enabled)

If you have the Author Dashboard enabled, scheduled posts appear in:

  • Overview Tab – Shows count of scheduled posts
  • Scheduled Tab – Full list with all management options

Tips for Managing Schedules

  • Review regularly – Check your scheduled posts weekly to ensure content is still relevant
  • Buffer time – Schedule posts at least a day ahead in case you need to make edits
  • Spread them out – Don’t schedule multiple posts for the same time
  • Note time zones – Remember that scheduled times use your site’s timezone
