Before You Start
- BuddyPress or BuddyBoss Platform active with Groups component enabled
- WB Member Blog Pro active with Groups module enabled
- At least one group created on your site
Step 1: Enable Groups Module
First, make sure the Groups module is active in your Pro settings.
- Go to Member Blog → Pro Modules
- Find Groups in the module list
- Toggle it to On
- Click Save Changes
Step 2: Configure Group Integration Settings
Navigate to Member Blog → Groups to configure how group linking works.
Who Can Link Posts
Choose who has permission to link posts to groups:

Additional Settings
- Show Group on Single Post – Display the linked group name on the post itself
- Activity Integration – Create an activity entry when posts are published to groups
Step 3: Enable Group Blog Per-Group (Optional)
Group admins can enable or disable the blog feature for their specific group.
- Go to the group page
- Click Manage → Settings
- Find the Member Blog section
- Toggle Enable Group Blog
- Save changes
When enabled, the group will show a Blog tab in its navigation.
How Members Link Posts to Groups
When creating or editing a post, members see a Link to Group dropdown:
- Create a new post or edit an existing one
- Look for the Link to Group field
- The dropdown shows only groups where the member has permission to post
- Select the desired group
- Publish or update the post
The post will immediately appear in the group’s Blog tab and activity feed (if enabled).
Understanding Privacy Inheritance
When a post is linked to a group, its visibility automatically matches the group’s privacy level:

Important Notes on Privacy
- Linking to a private/hidden group makes the post private
- Non-members see a “You don’t have access” message
- Unlinking a post restores its original visibility
Tips for Site Owners
- Start restrictive – Begin with “Admins Only” and expand permissions as your community grows
- Create topic groups – Organize content by creating groups for different topics (Tech, Lifestyle, News)
- Use private groups for teams – Internal teams can share posts privately within their group
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Group dropdown is empty | User isn’t a member of any groups, or groups don’t have blog enabled |
| Can’t link to a group | Check the “Who Can Link” setting – user may not have permission |
| Blog tab not showing in group | Group admin needs to enable blog in group settings |
