How to Navigate Your Author Dashboard

Your Author Dashboard is your central hub for managing posts, tracking performance, and accessing all Member Blog features. This guide walks you through each section.

Accessing Your Dashboard

From BuddyPress/BuddyBoss Profile

If your site uses BuddyPress or BuddyBoss:

  1. Go to your profile page
  2. Click the Blog tab in your profile navigation
  3. Your dashboard loads automatically

From Standalone Page

If your site uses standalone mode:

  1. Visit the Member Blog page (usually /member-blog/)
  2. Log in if prompted
  3. Your dashboard appears

Dashboard Tabs Overview

The dashboard has five main tabs (with Analytics module enabled):

1. Overview Tab

Your quick snapshot of recent activity:

  • Recent Posts – Your latest published posts
  • Draft Posts – Posts you’re still working on
  • Quick Stats – Total posts, views, engagement summary
  • Quick Actions – Create new post, view all posts

2. Limits Tab

Shows your posting limits (if Restrictions module is enabled):

  • Posts remaining this hour/day/week/month
  • Word count limits for your role
  • Post credits balance (if credits system is enabled)
  • Warning alerts when approaching limits

3. Notifications Tab

All your Member Blog notifications:

  • Post approvals – When your posts are approved
  • Co-author invitations – Collaboration requests
  • Comments – Activity on your posts
  • System notices – Important announcements

4. Analytics Tab

Detailed performance metrics:

  • Post views – How many people read your content
  • Traffic sources – Where readers come from
  • Time-based charts – Performance over time
  • Top posts – Your best performing content

5. Scheduled Tab

Your upcoming scheduled posts:

  • Calendar view – Visual schedule of posts
  • List view – All scheduled posts in a table
  • Quick edit – Reschedule or modify posts

Dashboard Actions

Creating a New Post

Click the Create New Post button (usually in the Overview tab or header area) to start writing.

Editing Existing Posts

Find the post in your list and click Edit to modify it.

Viewing Post Details

Click on any post title to see its full details, including individual analytics.

Tips for Using Your Dashboard

  • Check Analytics weekly to understand what content performs best
  • Monitor your Limits if your site has posting restrictions
  • Review Notifications regularly for co-author invitations
  • Use Scheduled tab to plan your content calendar
