Installation & License Activation

Get Started

WB Ad Manager Pro requires the free WB Ad Manager plugin. Install both plugins in order, then activate your license.

Requirements

  • WordPress 5.8 or higher
  • PHP 7.4 or higher
  • WB Ad Manager (free plugin) installed and active

Step 1: Install the Free Plugin

The free plugin provides the core ad engine. You must install it first.

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New in your WordPress admin
  2. Search for WB Ad Manager
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate

Alternatively, download the ZIP from WordPress.org and upload it via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.

Step 2: Install WB Ad Manager Pro

  1. Download the Pro plugin ZIP from your purchase confirmation email
  2. Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  3. Click Choose File, select the ZIP, then click Install Now
  4. Click Activate Plugin

Step 3: Activate Your License

Your license key is in your purchase email. Without an active license, Pro features are unavailable and you won’t receive updates.

  1. Go to WB Ad Manager → License
  2. Paste your license key into the field
  3. Click Activate License
  4. The status changes to Active (shown in green)

Keep your license key in a safe place. You’ll need it if you reinstall or move your site to a new domain.

Step 4: Run the Setup Wizard

After activation, a setup wizard appears to help you get started quickly.

The wizard guides you through:

  • Choosing which modules to enable (ad portal, classifieds, links)
  • Creating required pages automatically
  • Entering basic settings

You can skip the wizard and configure everything manually instead.

Verifying Your Installation

After installation, confirm everything is working:

  1. Check that WB Ad Manager appears in your WordPress admin sidebar
  2. Go to WB Ad Manager → License and confirm the status is Active
  3. Go to WB Ad Manager → Pro Settings — this menu only appears when Pro is active

Troubleshooting Installation

Plugin fails to activate

  • Confirm PHP 7.4+ is installed (check Tools → Site Health → Info → Server)
  • Confirm WordPress 5.8+ is installed
  • Deactivate other plugins temporarily to rule out conflicts
  • Re-download and reinstall if the ZIP may be corrupted

License won’t activate

  • Copy the full license key including any dashes
  • Check your site has an active internet connection
  • Ensure the domain matches the one you registered at purchase
  • Contact support at wbcomdesigns.com/support with your order number
