Connect buyers and sellers seamlessly with built-in inquiry management. When a visitor sends a message through a classified listing’s contact form, it creates an inquiry that both sellers and admins can track and respond to.
How Inquiries Work
- A visitor views a classified listing
- They fill in the contact form with their name, email, and message
- The seller receives an email notification
- The inquiry is recorded in the admin panel
- The seller can view and reply from their dashboard Inquiries tab

Viewing Inquiries (Admin)
As an admin, you can see all inquiries across all listings.
- Go to Classifieds -> Inquiries in your WordPress admin
You’ll see a list of all messages with:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Sender | Name and email of the person who sent the message |
| Listing | Which classified the inquiry is about |
| Message | The message content |
| Status | Unread, Read, or Replied |
| Date | When the message was sent |

Filtering Inquiries
Use the status filter tabs at the top of the page to narrow the view:
- All — shows every inquiry
- Unread — messages not yet opened
- Read — messages that have been viewed
- Replied — messages with a response sent
You can also filter by listing to see all inquiries for a specific classified.
Managing Inquiry Status
Click any inquiry to view the full message. The status updates automatically:
- Opening an inquiry marks it as Read
- Sending a reply marks it as Replied
You can also bulk-update statuses using the checkboxes and the Bulk Actions dropdown.
Seller Inquiry Management
Sellers manage their own inquiries from their Advertiser Dashboard.
- Log in and go to the Advertiser Dashboard
- Click the Inquiries tab
- View messages filtered by listing or date
- Mark messages as read or replied
Sellers see only inquiries for their own listings. They cannot see other sellers’ messages.
Email Notifications for Inquiries
When a visitor submits an inquiry, the seller receives an email with:
- Sender name and email address
- Which listing they’re asking about
- The full message text
- A link to reply
Configure inquiry email notifications at WB Ad Manager -> Pro Settings -> Emails.
Preventing Spam Inquiries
The contact form includes basic spam protection. For additional protection:
- Install a spam filtering plugin like Akismet
- Consider enabling a CAPTCHA on the contact form via your theme or a compatible plugin
- Review the Classifieds -> Inquiries list regularly and delete obvious spam
