Overview
An enrollment code gives you instant access to a course or group. If you’ve received a code from your instructor or organization, enter it on your dashboard to join right away — no purchase or manual approval needed.
How to Redeem Your Code
From Your Dashboard
If your site has the enrollment code widget, you’ll see a box on your dashboard home with the heading “Have an Enrollment Code?”
- Type or paste your code into the field.
- Click Redeem.
- A message confirms whether the code worked and which courses or groups you’ve been added to.
You must be logged in for the widget to appear.
From a Dedicated Page
Your site may also have a standalone enrollment code page. Your instructor or site admin will share the link with you. Enter your code there in the same way.
What Happens After You Redeem
Once you enter a valid code:
- You’re enrolled in the associated course or added to the group right away.
- A confirmation message lists exactly what you now have access to.
- Your new course appears in your Enrolled Courses section.
Common Error Messages
| Message | What It Means |
|---|---|
| “You must be logged in to redeem a code.” | Log in first, then try again. |
| Code not found | Double-check the code — it may have a typo. |
| Code expired | The code’s expiration date has passed. Contact whoever gave you the code. |
| Code fully used | The maximum number of people have already used this code. Contact your instructor. |
| Already enrolled | You’re already in this course or group. No action needed. |
Where Do Codes Come From?
Enrollment codes are created by instructors and administrators. They can be set to:
- Allow a certain number of uses before expiring
- Expire after a specific date
- Grant access to one or more courses or groups
