My Students
Overview
The My Students tab gives instructors, admins, and group leaders a way to look up any student and see their complete progress across courses. Search for a student by name, view their course completion, assignment status, quiz results, and export the data as a CSV.
Find your students at My Dashboard > My Students in the sidebar.
Who Can Access My Students
| Role | Which students they can view |
|---|---|
| Administrator | All students on the site |
| Instructor | Students enrolled in their own courses (including shared courses) |
| Group Leader | Students in their assigned groups |
| Student | Not available |
Finding a Student
Type a student’s name or email into the Search students dropdown. Results appear as you type. Select a student to load their progress data.
Group Leaders also see a Group filter dropdown above the search field. Select a specific group to narrow the student search to members of that group.
What You See for Each Student
Once you select a student, the dashboard displays:
Progress Summary Charts
Three doughnut charts provide a quick visual overview:
| Chart | Segments |
|---|---|
| Course Progress | Not Started, In Progress, Completed |
| Assignment Status | Approved, Unapproved, Pending |
| Quiz Status | Completed, Not Completed |
Course Progress List
For each course the student is enrolled in (that falls within your access scope), you see:
- Course name (linked to the course)
- Completion percentage
- Steps completed out of total (e.g., “3/10 Steps”)
- A visual progress bar
Results are paginated (10 courses per page) with Previous and Next navigation.
Exporting Student Data
Click the Export CSV button to download the selected student’s progress data as a spreadsheet file. The export includes course names, completion percentages, and step counts.
How Course Scoping Works
The courses shown for each student depend on your role:
- Administrators see all courses the student is enrolled in.
- Instructors see only courses they authored or are a co-instructor on, filtered to those the student is enrolled in.
- Group Leaders see courses assigned to their groups, filtered to those the student is enrolled in.
This means the same student may show different course data depending on who is viewing.
