Installation & Activation
This guide walks you through installing LearnDash Dashboard and activating your license so you receive automatic updates.
Before You Install
Make sure the following plugins are already installed and active on your site:
- LearnDash LMS — the course platform LearnDash Dashboard is built on top of
- Advanced Custom Fields PRO — powers the frontend forms for creating and editing courses
LearnDash Dashboard will not activate without both of these plugins. The free version of Advanced Custom Fields is not supported — you need ACF PRO.
Install the Plugin
Option 1: Upload Through WordPress (Recommended)
- Log in to your WordPress admin area.
- Go to Plugins > Add New.
- Click Upload Plugin at the top of the page.
- Click Choose File and select the
ld-dashboard.zipfile you downloaded from Wbcom Designs. - Click Install Now.
- When the upload finishes, click Activate Plugin.
Option 2: Install via FTP
Use this method if you prefer to upload files manually.
- Unzip the
ld-dashboard.zipfile on your computer. - Connect to your server using an FTP client (such as FileZilla).
- Upload the
ld-dashboardfolder to your site’s/wp-content/plugins/folder. - Log in to your WordPress admin area.
- Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins.
- Find LearnDash Dashboard in the list and click Activate.
Activate Your License
Activating your license connects your site to Wbcom Designs so you receive automatic updates when new versions are released.
- After activating the plugin, go to LearnDash Dashboard > Welcome in your WordPress admin.
- Find the License Key field.
- Enter the license key from your Wbcom Designs purchase confirmation email.
- Click Activate License.
- The status will update to Active.
If activation fails, check that your server can connect to the internet. Your site needs to be able to reach wbcomdesigns.com to verify the license.
Quick Setup Checklist
After activating the plugin, complete these steps to get your dashboard running:
- License key entered and status shows Active
- LearnDash LMS is active with at least one course set up
- Advanced Custom Fields PRO is active
- Create a new WordPress page (for example, “My Dashboard”)
- Add the
[ld_dashboard]shortcode to that page and publish it - Go to LearnDash Dashboard > Page Mapping and select your new page
- Go to LearnDash Dashboard > Menu Options to choose which sections each role can see
- Optionally, go to LearnDash Dashboard > Design to set your brand colors
Once you complete these steps, your dashboard is live and ready to use.
