Frontend Field Settings
Frontend Field Settings controls which optional form fields instructors see when creating or editing courses, lessons, topics, quizzes, and questions from the dashboard. Show only the fields that make sense for your workflow.
How to access: Go to WordPress Admin > LearnDash Dashboard > Frontend Fields.
How It Works
Each content type — Course, Lesson, Topic, Quiz, and Question — has its own set of optional fields. You decide which optional fields are visible to instructors when they use the creation and editing forms.
Some fields are always shown because they are required for the content to work. You cannot hide these:
- Title
- Content
- Status (publish/draft)
Everything else is optional and can be turned on or off.
On a fresh install, all optional fields are visible by default. Instructors can use all creation forms right away without any configuration from you.
Configure Fields for Each Content Type
Step 1: Select a content type
Use the Select Field Group dropdown to choose: Course, Lesson, Topic, Quiz, or Question.
Step 2: Toggle optional fields
Each optional field has a checkbox. Check it to show the field to instructors; uncheck it to hide it.
Use Enable/Disable All Optional Fields at the top of the panel to toggle everything at once.
Step 3: Save
Click Save Changes under each content type. Each content type saves independently, so you can configure them in any order.

The available optional fields depend on the content type:
