How To Add A Field In Buddypress User Profile

By default BuddyPress allows you to add profile fields you need to navigate through
Dashboard >> Users >> Profile Fields 

Here, you will have an option to add a new field or new field group.

If you want to add the extended field you can use BuddyPress Profile Pro plugin.
