This guide explains how to configure and enable moderation for activities and comments in BuddyPress using the Moderation Pro plugin.
1. Enabling Moderation for All Activities and Comments
To enable moderation for all activities and comments:
Navigate to BuddyPress Moderation Pro Settings in your WordPress dashboard.
Under the Activity Restrictions section, enable the option:
Moderate All Activities: Automatically subjects all new activities to moderation, requiring admin approval.
Under the Activity Comment Restrictions section, enable the option:
Moderate All Comments: Automatically subjects all new comments to moderation, requiring admin approval.
Reviewing Moderated Content
All new activities and comments will be marked as spam and can be reviewed and unspammed from the Activity List in BuddyPress:

2. Enabling Automatic or Reported Moderation for Activities and Comments
To enable moderation for reported content only:
- Navigate to BuddyPress Moderation Pro Settings in your WordPress dashboard.
- Under the Activity Restrictions section, enable:
Activate Automatic Moderation: Automatically moderates new activities based on user reports.
- Under the Activity Comment Restrictions section, enable:
Enable Comment Moderation: Automatically moderates new comments based on user reports.
Reviewing Reported Content
Reported activities and comments will appear in the Moderation Report Log for admin or moderators to review:
Navigate to: Moderation >> Report Log.
Admins can review flagged content and take action as necessary, ensuring appropriate content is visible on the site.
Important Notes
- When Moderate All Activities or Moderate All Comments is enabled, all new content will be subject to moderation, requiring manual review and approval.
- With Automatic Moderation, only content reported by users will be flagged for admin review, allowing most content to remain visible unless flagged.
