Create Organized Content

System Requirements
- WordPress 5.0 or higher
- BuddyPress 5.0+ OR bbPress 2.6+ (at least one required)
- PHP 7.4 or higher
Installation
1. Install the Plugin
- Navigate to: WordPress Admin > Plugins > Add New
- Search for “BuddyPress Hashtags”
- Click “Install Now” then “Activate”
2. Initial Configuration
- Go to: WB Plugins > BuddyPress Hashtag
- Review the default settings (they work great for most sites!)
- Click “Save Changes”
Quick Start
Create Your First Hashtag
In BuddyPress Activity:
- Go to your activity stream
- Type a post with a hashtag: “Hello everyone! #welcome”
- The #welcome will automatically become clickable
- Click it to see all posts with #welcome
In WordPress Posts:
- Create or edit a blog post
- Add hashtags in your content: “Learn about #SEO tips”
- Publish the post
- Visit the post – hashtags are now clickable
In bbPress Forums:
- Create a forum topic or reply
- Include hashtags: “Need help with #bbPress setup”
- Post your topic
- Click the hashtag to find related discussions
Follow Hashtags (Optional)
- Click any hashtag you’re interested in
- On the hashtag page, click “Follow” button
- Go to your profile > Settings > Hashtags
- Manage all your followed hashtags
- View followed hashtag feed in: Profile > Followed Hashtags tab
