The BuddyPress Group Moderation plugin offers a simple configuration interface to control how group moderation works on your BuddyPress-powered site. You can access and adjust these settings from your WordPress admin dashboard.
How to Access the Settings
-
Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
-
In the left-hand menu, navigate to WB Plugins → Group Moderation.
This will open the plugin’s configuration page, where you’ll find the following key settings:
Available Settings
1. Auto-approve Admin Groups
When enabled, any group created by a site administrator is automatically approved and made active, bypassing the moderation queue.
-
This is useful if you want trusted admins to create groups without waiting for manual approval, streamlining group creation for site staff.
2. Send Email Notifications
When enabled, the plugin will send email notifications in addition to BuddyPress on-site notifications.
Who Receives Emails:
-
-
Admins: Receive an email when a new group is created and is pending approval.
-
Group Creators: Receive an email when their group is approved or rejected.
-
-
This ensures that both admins and group creators are promptly informed about group status changes, even if they are not logged in to the site.
How to Configure
-
Go to WB Plugins → Group Moderation in your WordPress admin dashboard.
-
Toggle the settings for Auto-approve admin groups and Send email notifications according to your site’s needs.
-
Save your changes.
These configuration options give you control over who needs approval for group creation and how notifications are delivered, making group moderation efficient and transparent for both administrators and users.
