Get Started

The backend settings for the Advanced Username Manager provide administrators with the necessary controls to manage username changes effectively. Below are the key options available in the General Settings section:

1. Enable Username Change:

This option allows administrators to enable or disable the functionality for users to change their usernames. When enabled, users will have the ability to modify their usernames as per the defined settings.

2. Select User Role(s):

Administrators can specify which user roles are permitted to change their username such as Editor, Author, Contributor, and Subscriber

3. Limit Days:

This setting allows administrators to define a waiting period before users can change their usernames again. The available options are 7 Days, 15 days, and 30 days.

4. Minimum username length:

Administrators can specify the minimum number of characters required for a username.

5. Maximum username length:

Administrators can also define the maximum number of characters allowed for a username.

6. User Link Format:

Administrators can choose the format for members’ profile links, which will determine how users access profiles on the site. The formats available are Username and Unique Identifier:

  • Username:  Example: http://advanced-username.local/members/username/
  • Unique Identifier:  Example: http://advanced-username.local/members/aume8cc20547/

Both formats will direct users to the member’s profile, allowing for safe changes without breaking previously shared links.
